This tool runs in your browser and does not need API keys, root passwords, Telegram bot tokens, WhatsApp sessions, private IPs, or logs.

VPS and Linux basics Ubuntu packages are updated before installing OpenClaw. SSH access uses keys or a strong access pattern, not shared passwords. UFW/firewall is enabled only after SSH access is allowed. You know how OpenClaw will keep running after logout, such as systemd or PM2.

Gateway access Gateway is loopback-only, SSH-tunnelled, VPN/private-networked, or otherwise not public by default. Port 18789 is not opened directly to the public internet as a beginner shortcut. If using a reverse proxy, TLS, authentication, and access controls are planned before launch.

Secrets and channels API keys, bot tokens, config files, and WhatsApp sessions are treated as sensitive infrastructure. Telegram access uses pairing, allowlists, or a restrictive dmPolicy. WhatsApp setup uses a dedicated number where possible, not a casual personal-number connection. Screenshots and logs are redacted before sharing in forms, GitHub, or community chats.

Recovery and maintenance Config backups exist without committing secrets to Git. You know where to check Gateway, service, Telegram, or WhatsApp logs.
